Robert Barr


Robert Barr has lived in Ocean City just about his entire life. He graduated from Ocean City High School 1999.  He graduated from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey with a degree in communications in 2004.  Robert also serves on the Utility Advisory Commission for the city of Ocean City and is a member of the board of Directors for the Ocean City Exchange Club.

In his free time Robert enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends vacationing, and is also an avid sports fan.

Jim Root

Jim and his wife Diane became part-time Ocean City residents in 2003 and moved permanently in 2012 from Moorestown, NJ.  Diane is a special education teacher in the Southampton, NJ school district.  Jim, a registered architect, retired from a career with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command in 2012. He is also a retired Army Corps of Engineer Colonel with a 28-year active and reserve career.   They are parents of two sons, a Virginia Tech engineer and a Penn State meteorologist who live outside D.C. and Boston respectively. 

In addition to OCCA, he keeps busy as a volunteer with Historic Cold Spring Village and the Humane Society of Ocean City. He is also a Community Emergency Response Team volunteer and an amateur photographer.

Frank McCall



Ray Snyder


Ray and his wife Jane have lived in Ocean City year round since November, 2004. Jane is a full-time real estate agent with Prudential Fox & Roach Realtors on 34th Street. They are parents of three sons, who reside in the Mt. Laurel, NJ area and are expecting their first grandchild, a girl, in early November. Ray retired on July 1, 2010 from his job as an Assistant Principal and Counseling/Nursing Supervisor at Lenape High School in Medford, NJ after 37 years in education. In addition to OCCA, he keeps busy as a volunteer at Shore Medical Center and the Humane Society of Ocean City. He is also a CERT volunteer and enjoyes taking courses at Atlantic Cape Community College, mainly in Spanish and piano.

Gerry Daney


Gerry, his wife Susan and family have been coming to the Jersey Shore for more than 30 years. They are the parents of two great kids, both recent college graduates. Gerry has more than 25 years in the Information Technology field. More recently, he has joined the Board of a few regional and national organizations and mentors high school students for the organization Chester County Futures.

Bob & his wife, Wilma, visited friends over the years in Ocean City several times, and learned to like it. Upon his retirement from Exxon Mobil Research & Engineering in 2000, they purchased a condominium in Ocean City and found that they were spending more time here than their permanent home in north Jersey so, in 2005, they decided to make OC their permanent home. Bob has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech and is a licensed professional engineer with the state of New Jersey with over 40 years of experience, including ongoing part-time consulting.

Curt Gronert



Curt and his wife Linda have owned their home in OC since 1996, spending most weekends here from April through November. Upon their retirement, they moved to O.C. permanently in 2007, from their long-time home in Pennsburg, PA. Curt was raised in, and in due course took ownership of, a family-owned engineering/construction business. He was elected as a township supervisor, eventually became the full-time township administrator, and a spokesperson for the PA State Association of Township Supervisors.

For four years prior to retirement, Curt worked with Pennsylvania's Department of Economic Development. He has been a Director of the Exchange Club of Ocean City, assists with the Miss Ocean City Pageant, First Night, Halloween and Baby Parades, volunteers at Shore Medical Center and as an usher at the OC Tabernacle.  For the past four years, Curt has been a starter/announcer for the Shoprite LPGA Golf Tournament.
